Upon completion, the instructor-signed MV-278 certificate will be mailed to the address on your learner's permit. You must sign it before scheduling your DMV road test.

Policies & Important Details

Please review before registering for your class.

Choose a date and time from the calendar above. Complete the form, answer all required questions, upload a copy of your NYS learner's permit, and attest that you've read and agreed to the terms and conditions required for MV-278 certification. Payment of $60 can be made online or by calling the office. Once confirmed, you'll receive a Zoom meeting ID and call-in number.

Cancellations or rescheduling must be requested at least 24 hours before the selected class. No refunds are issued after a class has taken place. To request a refund after canceling, email nys5hrclass@gmail.com with your name, the registered class date, and the date you canceled. Refunds are processed immediately upon notification. Note: the scheduling portal does not issue automatic refunds.

You'll need a computer, laptop, or phone with a working camera, speaker, and microphone. Download Zoom at least 1 hour before class from zoom.us/download to ensure it's working. Your YouTube app must be up to date to access course videos. You must remain visible on camera for the entire class. Register for Zoom using the exact name on your Photo ID Learner Permit. Log in 10 minutes before the class to verify your setup. Your Meeting ID and call-in number will be emailed to you on the day of the class.

Upon completion, the instructor-signed MV-278 certificate will be mailed to the address on your learner's permit. You must sign the certificate before scheduling a DMV road test appointment. For questions about your certificate, call (212) 752-0100.

Instructors have the right to remove students from the class if they disrupt the session or are offensive to the instructor or other students. Racial slurs and disruptive behaviors will not be tolerated. Students removed from class will not receive their MV-278 certificate, and the $60 fee will be refunded.

Yes, you must have a valid NYS learner's permit before registering. You'll be asked to upload a copy of your permit during the registration process. The name you use on Zoom must match the name on your Photo ID Learner Permit exactly.
